Tornadoes touched down Thursday evening just northwest of the town of Simla in southeastern Elbert County. This was along Highway 24 very close to Simla. Officials said there were as many as five homes damaged. No injuries were reported.
Large hail, heavy rain and lightning accompanied the storm.
There were reports of some tree damage in the area about two miles west of Simla along Highway 24 after the tornado dissipated around 5:45 p.m. Ultimately, weather spotters reported seeing four tornadoes touch the ground during the course of the storm.

Metro Denver, the Front Range and many eastern Colorado communities were under a Tornado Watch until 10 p.m.
