KEN CARYL, Colo. — Trapped baby raccoons were found and rescued by Jefferson County Animal Control on Wednesday.

The baby raccoons could be heard crying from under a deck when Animal Control Officer J. Dow tried to find them.  She realized she wouldn’t be able to get the baby raccoons unless the deck was removed.

Jefferson County Sheriff and West Metro Fire worked together to remove the deck and safely lift out the babies.

Officials replaced the deck and the babies were saved from starving to death.

Now that it is springtime, it’s important to know that it’s against the law to remove wildlife without first contacting Colorado Parks and Wildlife .
