DENVER — In Park Hill, which has seen a fair share of gang violence over the years, neighbors have latched on to Next Door. A social media page designed to let neighbors communicate with each other online, without sending each of them an email.
“We think it helps people stay in touch,” said Rebecca Born. “From ‘I have some plants sitting on my front porch, come and get them,’ to ‘did you hear gunshots, are you safe?’ many people use the site to communicate with the whole neighborhood at once.”
Police use the page to urge folks to lock up, close up garage doors, and to warn neighbors about suspicious people in the area. The site is a wonderful way to communicate and to let people know what is going on in the neighborhood.
