JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — “Mayhem” needed some serious help Tuesday morning and rescuers from several agencies came to his aid.

Mayhem is a 30-year-old horse that lives in Golden Gate Canyon.

His owner went outside at about 8:30 a.m. and whistled to the horses that it was time for breakfast. When Mayhem didn’t show up, he immediately knew something was wrong.

The man found the old horse stuck between a couple of trees up the hill. But the horse needed help getting unstuck.

Jefferson County Animal Control officers, Fire Management members, Sheriff’s deputies and members of Golden Gate Fire and Rescue help the horse to safety.

The Sheriff’s office said Mayhem was recovering late Tuesday afternoon.
