ARVADA, Colo. — An Arvada couple has been living without heat during this winter … as their furnace has been on the fritz for several years. Joel is an Army veteran, he met wife Suzzie when they were 16. They now have grandchildren who ‘keep their jackets zipped up, they also keep their snow shoes on as well.”
Friday, Rebuilding Together is answering their prayers by putting in a new furnace.
“We found them on the Internet,” said Suzzie. “I had a bout with pneumonia a couple of months ago, but without heat it has come back on me.”
That’s why Rebuilding Together did what they do best. Help the couple get a new furnace which will help them survive this snowstorm bearing down on metro Denver this weekend.
A goal for the group this winter is replacing about 30 furnaces, while also helping people who are dealing with electrical, plumbing, and heating issues. Last year the group, with the help of the public and businesses, were able to help 212 families.
“We work mainly on donations and so the more money we get, the more people we can help,” said Arbour.
The organization’s phone number is 720-524-0840.
