STOCKTON, Calif. — A California teen finds an organ in his KFC meal and all he wants is his lunch money back.

A Stockton High School student, Manuel Cobarubies, usually goes to the KFC on Martin Luther King Boulevard and nothing like this has ever happened to him before, according to KTXL.

After digging into his meal of chicken breast, thighs and corn, he found something that looked like brain, according to Cobarubies.

“(It looked) like a brain to me. I mean at that point, red flags were kind of raised,” he said.

He took a picture of it, posted it on Twitter and it got a lot of attention, KTXL reported.

“I directly mentioned to them and a bunch of people started tagging them and I guess it kind of raised awareness to them when a lot of people started tagging them in my tweet,” Cobarubies said.

Shortly after KTXL reached out to KFC management, Richard Ramos, a KFC area consultant, called the student directly.

Ramos informed him that the brain, as Cobarubies described, is actually a kidney or a gizzard and is safe to eat.

However, Ramos said that the KFC will be making sure cooks prepare the chicken properly.

“I’m probably just going to have to start packing my own meals, making my own sandwiches,” he said.
