GREENSBORO, N.C. — A North Carolina woman, posted this video of herself dancing online. She never expected what happened next.
The video went viral, with the title “A Fat Girl Dancing.” The dancing woman also started a ‘No Body Shame’ campaign that became popular, WGHP reported.
Her name is Whitney Way Thore and she has Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. This diagnosis was the drive to start this campaign.
To her surprise, it grabbed the attention of TLC and she will now star in her own reality TV show, My Big Fat Fabulous Life.
She used to be a 5-foot 2-inch, 110-pound dancer, TLC said, but because of her rare condition, she gained 200 pounds during college.
This weight gain has not stopped her from dancing, though.
In an interview with TLC Thore said, “There’s ‘PC’ terms for everything these days, but fat people are fair game. Someone has to fight for us.”
This reality TV show is set to premiere this coming January.
