DENVER –It’s a relief for families relying on medical marijuana in Colorado to treat serious conditions.
The State Board of Health Tuesday decided against putting a limit on how many patients caregivers can treat. It’s a big victory for parents of children who rely on medical pot to help them with their ailments.
“She’s now gone from 200 plus seizures a day to eight seizure free days in a row which had never ever happened,” says Janea Cox about her daughter who receives medical marijuana treatment. “My child now can say ‘mama.’ She talks and smiles and she never used to do that.”
Lawmakers had been considering the patient limit to crack down on system abuse. But according to the state there are 2,800 caregivers and only four of them have more than 10 patients.
