CARBONDALE, Colo. – A man was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of shooting two people to death in the El Jebel area of Eagle County.

A deputy responded to a report of a shooting at a home in the area of 160 Arapahoe about 11:15 p.m. Saturday, the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office said. The deputy discovered the bodies of a man and a woman, identified by the coroner Sunday as Mayra Lorena Lopez, 40; Eliseo Lopez, 42. Witnesses reported seeing a man flee the scene.

Police identified William Anderson Amaya, 33, as a suspect in the case and began looking for him.

About 5:40 a.m. Sunday, deputies located Amaya at his workplace, police said. He was arrested without incident.

The suspect’s relationship to the victims was not immediately known.
