GOLDEN, Colo. — It was the perfect day to remember a hero.
Dozens of golfers showed up at Applewood Golf Course, in Golden, to play in the 2014 Annual James Davies Memorial Golf Tournament.
Davies was a Lakewood Police officer, killed in the line of duty, in November of 2012.
Money raised is being used to give 2 scholarships to students who are participants in “Judi’s House,” a hope and healing foundation, founded by former Bronco Brian Griese.
Davies is the first Lakewood Police officer to die in the line of duty in the department’s history.
