DENVER — Snow has been falling in Denver on Tuesday morning in another sweeping change after warm weather Monday.

The wind will stay strong into Tuesday as it switches to the north as a cold front raced into Denver. The National Weather Service issued a High Wind Warning for most of eastern Colorado from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Gusts in metro Denver could ready 45-plus mph.

Temperatures fell quickly and some light snow developed during the morning hours Tuesday.

Temperatures will be noticeably cooler with highs only in the 40s, about a 25-degree drop from Monday.

Accumulation in the mountains early Tuesday forced the closure of Loveland Pass, but it was reopened, with chains required for commercial vehicles.

We’ll slowly warm back into the 60s by Thursday.  Then another fast-moving cold front will cool us again by Friday with even colder temps and more snow possible by Saturday.
