THORNTON, Colo. — Sunday’s Broncos win made a winner of a bar in Thornton. Prime Time Sports Bar bet Bay Hill Tavern in San Diego $1,000 that the Broncos would come out on top.

“If we win, they would cover a $1,000 bar tab so my customers could drink free for the first $1,000 in the AFC. Championship Game,” said Manny Arellano, Prime Time’s co-owner.

Arellano placed the idea of a wager on Facebook this past week, hoping a San Diego bar would bite. Finally on Friday, Bay Hill Tavern said yes.

“We’re the team to beat, in my opinion,” said Ted Lang, Bay Hill’s owner. “Pretty confident we’re going to win today.”

Lang made those comments before the Broncos built a first-half lead. By halftime one Prime Time customer was feeling very confident.

“We’re calling to get the credit card information and getting $1,000,” said Kristina Cordova. “We’re spending $1,000 of their money.”

Prime Time’s Sunday customers will get first dibs on the bar tab during next Sunday’s Championship Game against New England.
