GREELEY, Colo. — A Greeley man has been charged with first-degree murder after admitting to police that he stabbed his wife to death at their Greeley home Friday.

Authorities said Juan Manuel Velasquez-Trinidad, 51, walked in to the Greeley Police Department at about 12:25 p.m., and told officers that he just stabbed his wife.

When police responded to the couple’s home at 807 31st Avenue, they found Martha Velasquez, 47, suffering from severe stab wounds to her chest.

Velasquez was taken to the North Colorado Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead a short time later.

Greeley Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
