Starting November 21st people in Denver and Colorado Springs will have a new option for wireless service. MetroPCS, purchased by T-Mobile earlier this year, is expanding to 15 new markets including Denver and Colorado Springs. The expansion also includes Phoenix, Oklahoma City, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Tulsa, OK among others.

MetroPCS operates on T-Mobile’s LTE network but sells its’ prepaid service plans separate from T-Mobile. The company only offers 3 plans priced at $40, $50 and $60 for unlimited talk, text and internet. The company sells itself as being simple and inexpensive without requiring a contract. MetroPCS offers a small selection of smartphones at full non-contract price but also allows customers to use their existing T-Mobile or At&t phone.

The expansion of MetroPCS is indicative of the growth of prepaid mobile phone service as consumers look for less expensive options and are willing to pay full price for their smartphone upfront.

MetroPCS phones and service will be sold in Denver via the company’s website and local authorized dealers.
