LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KDVR) — A 32-year-old woman is in custody after a police pursuit of a stolen car ended in a crash Friday afternoon.

The Lakewood Police Department said a call came in around 2 p.m. on an armed carjacking at Cobblestone Car Wash located at 5800 W. Colfax Avenue. Police learned the suspect attempted two other carjackings and assaulted the victims before stealing the car at the car wash.

Police located the vehicle and engaged in a pursuit. The suspect rammed several police cars while trying to get away, Lakewood PD said. She crashed at 6th Avenue Frontage Road and Harlan Street.

“The vehicle was hauling, going fast down the street, escaping, evading, obviously,” a witness named David said. “I think she (suspect) thought that was a street, and it’s not, it’s a street going into the business.”

Lakewood PD said she is facing charges of carjacking (aggravated robbery), menacing, assault, eluding and various traffic infractions.
