BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — A 13-year-old was behind the wheel when she crashed into a Boulder County school bus Friday morning.

CSP said the crash happened around 8:10 a.m. near Highway 287 and Lookout Road and involved three vehicles and a school bus.

CSP confirmed a 13-year-old girl was driving a Suburban when she crashed into the school bus. The girl was cited and then released to her parents following the crash.

Four people were taken to the hospital with no major injuries reported, according to CSP.

The Boulder Valley School District said a driver and student were on the bus at the time of the crash and they were not injured.

The Colorado Department of Transportation said the southbound lanes of Highway 287 reopened near Erie around 11 a.m.
