DENVER (KDVR) — Denver police need help identifying a driver involved in a deadly hit-and-run late Wednesday night.

The crash took place on West Colfax Avenue, close to Interstate 25, on Wednesday around 10:38 p.m.

Denver police said an unknown driver was traveling eastbound when they struck a female pedestrian who was walking in the middle of Colfax Avenue. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to police, the driver fled the scene without stopping to check on the victim.

Police are looking for a car described as:

  • A silver SUV or Coupe
  • Light to moderate front end damage to the front side

The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Anyone with information on the hit-and-run is asked to contact the Denver Metro Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and still be eligible for a $2,000 reward.
