DENVER — A man who escaped from the Denver County jail and was described as being “extremely dangerous” has been captured, authorities confirmed Wednesday afternoon.

FOX31 Denver has learned Felix Trujillo is now in Denver police custody.  Denver police plan to hold a news conference at 3:15 p.m. to talk about the arrest.

Trujillo, 24, left the Denver County jail Sunday night wearing a deputy’s uniform, authorities said.  Investigators believe he was aided by Denver Sheriff’s Deputy Matthew Andrews, a two-year veteran of the department.

Andrews was arrested Sunday night on a charge of assisting in an escape — a class 3 felony.  He was assigned to general security at the Van Cise-Simonet Detention Center, which serves as the primary intake center for the city and county.

Denver police have taken the lead in the investigation and would not comment on what role Andrews played allegedly helping Trujillo escape from the jail.

Police have also arrested a 48-year-old woman, Marilyn Annette Reeves, in connection with the Trujillo’s escape, although authorities have not described what specifically she did.
