BOULDER, Colo. (KDVR) — The Boulder Police Department conducted a death investigation it says is suspicious around 49th Street and Pearl Street Friday afternoon.

The deceased person was discovered just before 6 a.m. near a food pantry and police say they suffered major trauma. The incident is believed to have happened between Thursday night and Friday morning.

Video from a FOX31 photojournalist at the scene shows several dozen evidence markers on the ground in the area.

According to the City of Boulder, police work led detectives to identify a suspect shortly after midnight on Saturday. Police arrested Alan Moody, 21, and charged him with vehicular homicide and causing an accident involving personal death or injury.

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death, and identify the victim. Anyone with information on this investigation is asked to contact the Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
