UPDATE: (March 14, 9:04 p.m.) Arapahoe County Coroner has identified the victim as 15-year-old Christian Lopez.

AURORA, Colo. (KDVR) – Aurora police are on the hunt for those responsible for shooting and killing a teenage boy in Aurora, late Friday afternoon.

According to the Aurora Police Department, officers responded to a shooting along the 12700 block of East Asbury Circle around 2:30 p.m.

Upon arriving at the scene, Aurora Police found a 16-year-old boy, suffering from a gunshot wound. From there, the boy was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later declared dead.

The Arapahoe County Coroner is waiting until family members of the victim have been informed before releasing his name to the public.
