COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — A public service memorializing slain corrections head Tom Clements is set for this morning in Colorado Springs.
The event is expected to attract hundreds of officials and state workers, including Gov. John Hickenlooper.
Clements, broadly considered a reformer within Colorado’s prison system, was killed Tuesday night when an assailant shot him as he answered the front door of his Monument house. The investigation has centered on Evan Ebel, a paroled gang member also suspected of killing a pizza delivery driver.
The memorial is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at New Life Church,11025 Voyager Parkway. FOX31 Denver will have coverage later today.
