FRISCO, Colo. (KDVR) — The identity of a skier who died in a crash on Copper Mountain last month has been released by authorities.

Twenty-four-year-old Nicholas Vigil from Denver was skiing on the intermediate College Run with friends on Jan. 20 when he lost control and crashed.

The Summit County coroner’s office said Vigil suffered a traumatic brain injury during the crash, ruling his death an accident.

Vigil was wearing a helmet at the time.
