DENVER (KDVR) – Three people were injured and one man was pronounced dead on scene in a drive-by shooting late Saturday night.

The Office of the Medical Examiner identified 62-year-old Timothy Massangale as the man killed in the incident.

The shooting happened in the 7300 block of East 22nd Avenue.

A man and two women were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Police have not given an update on their conditions.

Two Denver officers were on their way to the scene when they crashed into another vehicle in the area of Dahlia Street and East Stapleton Drive North around 11:20 p.m.

Those officers were taken to a hospital with serious leg injuries and have been released.

The suspect vehicle in the shooting was caught on surveillance video and police are asking anyone with information to contact Denver Metro Crime Stoppers at 720.913.7867.

FOX31 sought comment about the shooting from residents at the targeted home.

“Respect our privacy, please go away,” a woman at the home said.

“It is a quiet neighborhood, but why it was a shooting over there, I have no idea,” said Robert Bruce, who lives on the block.

Bruce called the targeted family, good neighbors.

“They (are) a pretty quiet, nice family you know, that’s about all I can say about that,” Bruce said.

Bruce said he’s lived in this neighborhood for 20 years and has never seen anything like this happen.

“That’s something to really be concerned about,” Bruce said.
