WELD COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — Update: The Colorado Department of Transportation said the road is back open in both directions two miles west of Ault following the crash cleanup and investigation.

Original Story: Two women died after a driver in a pickup truck crashed into a semi truck early Wednesday morning on Highway 14 in Weld County.

According to a state trooper who responded to the crash, both the driver and passenger in the truck died after colliding with the semi.

One woman was from Fort Collins, the other from Oregon. The semi driver is reported to be conscious and speaking. There is no confirmation of whether the semi driver suffered any injuries.
