WESTMINSTER, Colo. (KDVR) — A man died after he was found injured on a neighbor’s porch on Saturday, police said.

Police said officers responded to the report of a disturbance at 1:30 p.m. at 3957 W. 118th Place. A witness told police a stabbing took place, and that the suspect was inside the townhome.

An injured man was found on the front porch and transported to the hospital where he later died.

WPD had set a perimeter, evacuated immediate residents and ordered a shelter-in-place for the area around the 3900 block of 118th Place.

Negotiators convinced Kenneth Sargent to peacefully surrender to Westminster SWAT officers after several hours of attempted contact. The 59-year-old has been charged with first-degree murder.
