ARVADA, Colo. (KDVR) —Update: After this story was first published the Jefferson County Coroner confirmed that the shooting suspect was Ronald Troyke. FOX31 has confirmed that Troyke lived in the apartment that was raided by SWAT Monday evening.

Original: People living in an Arvada apartment complex are wondering if a SWAT raid Monday night was connected to the shooting that left a police officer and another person dead in Olde Town just a few hours earlier.

The apartment building is located at 52nd Avenue and Allison Street, about five blocks south of where the shooting occurred in Olde Town.

Neighbors of the building where the raid took place shared photos with FOX31’s Vicente Arenas of the SWAT officers in the complex and in apartments.

The door of the unit that was searched is still damaged.

“You could hear them marching like all at once. It was just crazy. They had huge guns. If that really was a bomb, we would have all been dead,” resident Micayla Sawaya said.

Another man said SWAT went to his place to take cover as the raid took place.

“They were right here and they told me to go to the back room just in case there was any firing going on,” resident Marcus Lucas said.

Many couldn’t believe it was happening.

“Right here in my place my house. I couldn’t believe it was right here,” said another man who lives in the complex.

We have reached out to police to find out if this search is connected to the shooting in Olde Town but have not yet heard back. An update from investigators is expected later today.
