BOULDER, Colo. (KDVR) — It has now been more than two weeks since that horrible mass shooting tragedy at the King Soopers in Boulder on March 22.

Wednesday, we learned some new things about one of the workers who lost her life that day.

That information came along with tears and laughter in a celebration of life service for Rikki Olds. 

“There’s a hole in our hearts, which will never close and, for me, a girlfriend who loved me in a way I never felt before. I love you Rikki baby,” said her boyfriend, Jordan Arthur. 

Twenty-five-year-old Rikki was one of 10 people killed at the King Soopers on Table Mesa Drive where she was a manager.

Her sister spoke publicly about the loss for the first time during the celebration of life.

“When we were little, she raised me pretty much and my little brother. I just know that she wouldn’t want us to be sad. She would want us to be celebrating,” Bryanna Whitehead said. 

During her celebration of life service, we learned she loved ketchup and put it on everything. She also loved octopuses and a song her uncle just can’t stop singing. 

“‘Bananas in pajama are chasing teddy bears.’ You adored that toy. All the while it was my mission to silence it,” her uncle, Robert Olds, said with a laugh. 

Rikki had dreams of running her own King Soopers store someday. 

After what her family describes as a rough childhood and being raised by her grandmother, she was determined to make other people smile. 

“I got to watch it when she played softball, when she assisted people in the school in the hallways just to make them smile,” said former Centaurus High School teacher Lisa Lowe.

Rikki’s uncle has helped the world get to know Rikki so that she may never be forgotten. 

At the service, empty picture frames represented wedding photos she’ll never have. 

“I will miss your warm and caring soul and you coming through the door and saying, ‘What’s up, Uncle Roberto?'” said Robert.

The way Rikki Olds died made headlines. How she lived made the world a better place. 

The celebration of life was held at the Boulder Valley Christian Church at 11 a.m. and a replay can be watched below.
