DENVER (KDVR) — A stabbing by the Auraria Campus in Denver forced school officials to place buildings on lockdown Tuesday afternoon.
Students and staff were notified via email and text at 4:12 p.m. that entry doors are locked. “Increase your awareness. Run, hide, or fight if appropriate,” the email said.
Denver police later confirmed that a male victim was stabbed near the Light Rail station on 5th Street by the Auraria Campus. The victim was transported to the hospital.
Police have a suspect in custody, and the Denver Police Department said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
