BOULDER, Colo. (KDVR) — Members of the Boulder community gathered at Fairview High School Thursday night to honor the 10 victims of the mass shooting at King Soopers on Monday.

The vigil was organized by Moms Demand Action, a group fighting for public safety measures that can protect people from gun violence.

Many people brought candles and flowers. “Amazing Grace” was sung to begin the evening.

Among those who arrived early:  Four students from nearby CU-Boulder.

“It really does seem unreal, until it happens to you,” student Rio Johnson said.

Johnson and her friends spent the day bringing gifts to different agencies in Boulder: Doughnuts to the Boulder County Coroner’s Office, coffee gift cards to Boulder Police, doughnuts to another Boulder-area King Soopers, and cookies to a funeral home.
