WELD COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) — According to the Eaton Fire Protection District, there was a one-mile radius block off that includes Weld County Road 72, Weld County Road 29, and Weld County Road 392. Fire crews were instructed to pull back from the explosion.
Colorado State Patrol says a 40-year-old semi-truck driver was self-transported to the hospital and already released.
No buildings or other vehicles were impacted, and Xcel Energy was handling a gas line that had been hit, CSP says.
The semi was pulling a sandbox, but it has not been reported whether it was loaded. CSP says if it was hauling something it wasn’t any hazmat materials.
