DENVER (KDVR) — The Denver Police Department is investigating a viral video that shows officers shooting pepper bullets at a vehicle stopped in traffic.

The male driver of the vehicle yelled that his pregnant girlfriend is a passenger in the car, but officers continued to shoot.

Denver Police Chief Paul Pazen is currently listed as the complainant in the case as the persons featured in the video have not come forward or filed a formal complaint.

FOX31 and Channel 2 spoke with Pazen Thursday about accusation of police misconduct during the past week.

“We recognize, we acknowledge that we always haven’t gotten it right, but we will work together with our community to do it better in the future. If that means identifying folks within our department that don’t adhere to our policy and values, then it’s incumbent that we hold them accountable and do something about it,” Pazen said.

DPD says the persons in the video have been identified, and police are trying to make contact with them.

If anyone has any information about this incident they are asked to call 720-913-6019.
