Nicole Fierro joined FOX31 and Colorado’s Own Channel 2 as a multimedia journalist in August 2019. She is honored to be your weekend morning anchor and weeknight reporter.
Nicole has distinguished herself with her coverage of the murder of 11-year-old Gannon Stauch. Despite network and world-wide media attention on this case, Stauch’s biological family told Nicole they rely on her continuous coverage to learn about developments in the fight for justice for their son. Gannon’s stepmother, charged with the boy’s murder, also spoke exclusively to Nicole in the days leading up to her arrest.
Before moving to Colorado, Nicole worked as a reporter and anchor in Mobile, Alabama earning her very first Edward R. Murrow award with her news team for Overall Excellence. She also spent two years reporting and anchoring in Tri-Cities, Washington.
Nicole is passionate about bringing her community answers they need and deserve to know. She’ll stop at nothing to make sure taxpayers learn and understand where their hard-earned dollars are going.
East-coast born and raised, Nicole hails from Greenwich, Connecticut. She graduated from the University of Maryland. While attending University of Maryland, Nicole spent her summers and semesters interning with NBC 4 New York’s I-Team, NBC 4 Washington, and NBC News Channel learning all she could about the future of journalism.
In her free time, Nicole loves hiking, all sorts of gym classes and embracing her Italian heritage in the kitchen.
