Emergency repairs on a stretch of eastbound US 36 caused lengthy delays Friday afternoon and work is expected to last at least through Saturday morning.; as of 8:45 a.m., the road was still closed.
The work at US 36 at Wadsworth Blvd. shut down the eastbound Friday as crews removed a section of concrete to evaluate the ground under the road.
Drivers described the road as having “buckled” and forced a hump in the road.
CDOT originally predicted the shutdown to last at least through the weekend.
