DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — An airplane crash killed one person when it went down near a neighborhood west of Parker in Douglas County Friday night. South Metro Fire Rescue said there were no survivors.
South Metro Fire Rescue said the plane went down behind 11083 Pastel Point in the Stepping Stone Subdivision. This is west of the town of Parker.
A South Metro Fire spokesman said there was no flight plan filed, so crews did not know how many people where on the small plane. It’s an SR-22 Cirrus, capable of carrying four or five people.
A grid search was being conducted late Friday night in a field behind the subdivision.
An engine from the plane was embedded in the back of a house. A woman and her two children were inside the home but were not hurt. South Metro Fire said no residents in the neighborhood were injured.

“At least one house was struck by debris. No fire. Crews are searching for passengers,” South Metro said.
Sandy Gremillion told FOX31 that it appeared an aircraft engine slammed into the side of her daughter’s home.
The plane took off from Centennial Airport a little after 8 p.m. Friday night. It disappeared from radar at 8:23 p.m., according to South Metro Fire Rescue.
