AURORA, Colo. — One person was shot at Cherry Creek State Park on Sunday night, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said.
It happened around 7:20 p.m. near the west boat ramp, the sheriff’s office said.
Officials said the adult victim was taken to a hospital in unknown condition.
The suspect fled the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. Authorities do not believe there is a threat to the public and have not released any suspect information.
All park entrances were closed while the shooting was investigated. At one point, visitors were prevented from leaving the park for more than 30 minutes.

It is not known what led to the shooting. The park reopened Monday morning.
