PARKER, Colo. — A vehicle crashed into a store in Parker on Saturday afternoon, injuring six people, South Metro Fire Rescue said.

Officials said a vehicle traveled front to back through the RNK Running and Walking store at 13019 S. Parker Road about 3 p.m. Firefighters removed debris while they searched for possible additional victims.

They completed the search and said there were no additional victims.

One person was in critical condition, two people were in serious condition and three had minor injuries.

Store owner Jim Browning said there were three staff members and a half-dozen customers in the store when the car plowed through. Two of the injured work at the store.

He said one of the injured employees is former Olympic runner Trent Briney.

Browning said the vehicle sped into the parking lot, jumped a median, hit the store manager’s vehicle, jumped another median and then ran through the store.

He said there were two people in the vehicle and the store was destroyed.

The Parker Police Department said late Saturday afternoon that the driver involved might have suffered a medical incident that caused the crash.
