Burke Ramsey has filed a $150 million lawsuit against a forensic pathologist who said he believes Ramsey killed his sister, JonBenet.

In a lawsuit filed Thursday, Burke Ramsey’s attorney accuses Dr. Werner Spitz of making “unsupported, false and sensational statements and accusations.”

“[Spitz] explicitly and falsely stated that Burke Ramsey killed his sister,” the lawsuit claims, citing an interview Spitz did with CBS Detroit in September.

The lawsuit quotes Spitz as saying:

“If you really, really use your free time to think about this case, you cannot come to a different conclusion… It’s the boy who did

it, whether he was jealous, or mentally unfit or something … I don’t know the why, I’m not a psychiatrist, but what I am sure about is what I know

about him, that is what happened here. And the parents changed the scene to make it look like something it wasn’t.”

“Spitz claims Burke, age 9 at the time of his sister’s death, bludgeoned her to death,” the lawsuit states. “[He] made this accusation without ever examining JonBenet’s body, without viewing the crime scene, and without consulting with the pathologist who performed the autopsy.”

Spitz  also took part in a CBS docuseries, in which special investigators concluded that Burke Ramsey killed his sister and that his parents, John and Patsy Ramsey, staged the scene to protect their son.

The lawsuit states, “Spitz’s participation in it will be the subject of separate defamation litigation to be filed in the near future.”

According to Business Insider, “CBS stands by the broadcast and will do so in court.”

“Spitz is a publicity seeker with a history of interjecting himself in high profile cases in an effort to make money, exaggerate his resume and claim a level of expertise he does not possess or deserve,” the lawsuit states.

The lawsuit claims Burke Ramsey was asleep when an “unknown assailant brutally tortured, sexually assaulted and murdered his sister.”

The 6-year-old girl was found dead the morning of Dec. 26, 1996, in a room in the basement of the family’s home in Boulder.

The lawsuit points out that officials in the Boulder Police Department and the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office have publicly stated, on numerous occasions, that Burke Ramsey was not a suspect in his sister’s murder.

The lawsuit refers to JonBenet Ramsey as Burke Ramsey’s “sister and his life’s best friend.”
