WESTMINSTER, Colo. — The search continued Wednesday for a suspect who stole a pickup truck that slammed into an SUV, killing a woman on Tuesday night, the Westminster Police Department said.

The woman was identified as 33-year-old Jessica Holman of Thornton.

Police said two men stole an F-350 pickup truck and a trailer that was carrying two Polaris RZR off-road vehicles from the 8600 block of 86th Circle.

The owner of the truck told dispatchers he was following the truck and that one of the off-road vehicles fell off the trailer in the 8600 block of Queen Street.

Police attempted to stop the truck in the 9400 block of Wadsworth Parkway. When officers turned on their lights and sirens, the truck crossed the median and struck a silver SUV that was traveling southbound on Wadsworth.

Holman was pronounced dead at the scene. One of the suspects was taken into custody at the accident scene. The second suspect fled west into a neighborhood.

An extensive search was conducted by Westminster, Broomfield and Arvada police, and automated emergency calls were sent to more than 700 phone lines in the area, but the suspect was not found.

Police do not believe he is still in the area. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male with dark hair. He was last seen wearing a dark blue shirt and blue jeans.
