DENVER — No matter where you were Sunday night, the super blood moon did not disappoint. Of course, some folks felt they had a better view than others — including a group of about 100 people on Diamond Hill.

Diamond Hill is near the Speer bridge off of Interstate 25. It’s a popular spot for photographers who were looking to capture spectacular images of Denver’s city skyline.

Adding the super blood moon into that backdrop was enticing for a lot of folks, including Michelle Parker.

“It was so important I missed the Broncos game,” Parker joked. “It also amazes me that I can come out here and take photographs to keep forever of such an amazing thing”.

It’s the first time in 33 years a supermoon underwent a full lunar eclipse.

“It is almost once in a lifetime,” Stacey Trujillo said.

Trujillo, like many others on Diamond Hill, snapped pictures of the memorable event.

“Every picture brings back a memory and this here is going to be a great memory for me,” Juan Jones said.

Unfortunately, the super blood moon was covered by clouds over Denver for a period of the night. Photographers and onlookers were able to capture it during its beginning phase around 7:40 p.m. on Sunday.
