BOULDER, Colo. — The search for a missing 35-year-old tuber in the fast-moving and fast-rising Boulder Creek has been called off.

The Boulder Fire and Rescue dive team was called out to the 4700 block of Arapahoe Drive about 8:30 p.m. Monday on the report of the missing man.

With the recent rain and snow melt, rising water levels remain a concern.

Police said Daniel Linnenkamp, 22, was drinking and smoking marijuana with his friend, Chris Danko, 35, when Danko decided to go tubing.

“When I saw him wading in the water, I yelled ‘Dude, don’t get in,'” Linnenkamp told the Boulder Daily Camera.

Rescue crews were searching the creek between 48th and 75th avenues and resumed their search Tuesday morning but after not finding him, the search has been called off unless more information is received.
