EVERGREEN, Colo. — Days of rainfall are starting to worry residents in higher-elevation locations, including Evergreen.

“Evergreen residents have been down this path before,” said Nick Davis of Cactus Jack’s Saloon. “There have been a lot of people looking.”

Sandbag preparations have begun in Evergreen as Bear Creek continues to rise.

Customers at Cactus Jack’s are talking about how much the creek has risen.

In fall 2013, flooding closed down a portion of Highway 73, forcing many businesses to close until the waters receded.

This time, people are happy yet cautious.

Rain is expected across the metro area on Wednesday, but not as strong as Tuesday.

Showers will linger on Thursday and Friday afternoon before a soaker of a storm moves in Saturday that could deliver another 1-2 inches.
