JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. –  Elk Creek Fire Protection District responded to a double fatal crash on Highway 285, motorcycle versus Jeep on Saturday night.

The highway was closed in both direction as of 5:33 p.m. from mile marker 229 – 231.

Traffic was backed up to Richmond Hill and delays were expected for several hours.

The highway was closed for about three hours and was back open just before 9:30 p.m.

It is still unclear whether the fatalities were both from the motorcycle or also the car.
