AURORA, Colo. — Police shot and killed a suspect during a confrontation in Aurora Friday afternoon. It happened near Lewiston Street and East 12th Avenue.

The suspect was on foot. According to police, he was wanted for kidnapping and armed robbery.

Several officers were in the area. The suspect was shot while he was being taken into custody. A spokesperson didn’t say what specifically happened that led to the shooting or how many shots were fired.

A police spokesperson said the officer involved was OK. The suspect died at the hospital.

Investigators were at the scene and had not released any other information.
