AURORA, Colo. — Aurora police were investigating after a dead woman was found Friday afternoon.

In a tweet, police initially said they were investigating a homicide, but detectives at the scene would not call it that.

A worker found the body in a wooded area near E. 6th Avenue and Chambers Road.  The location is in between Hinkley High School, where police said students staged a walkout, and the Aurora Municipal Center, where the demonstrators gathered.

The report of the death came in just after hundreds of students walked out of class in a protest.

Police said they moved officers from the homicide department, who were monitoring the walkouts, to investigate the death.
