ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Current and former Broncos players — as well as those from around the NFL — took to Twitter and social media on Wednesday morning as word came that owner Pat Bowlen was relinquishing control of the organization as he battles Alzheimer’s disease.

FOR 5 YEARS OF MY LIFE FROM 2009-2013 I HAD THE HONOR OF PLAYING FOR MR. PAT BOWLEN.. A MAN THAT OPERATED WITH CLASS, GRACE, PRIDE AND HUMILITY WITH EVERY BREATHE HE TOOK.. I AM BEYOND PROUD TO SAY THAT I WAS ONCE A MEMBER OF @denverbroncos TEAM AND WILL FOREVER BE BRONCO AT HEART, FOR HE AND THE ORGANIZATION ALLOWED ME TO START LIVING MY DREAM AS A NFL PLAYER!!!
