BYERS, Colo. — The Riot Fest Denver music festival was evacuated for more than two hours Sunday evening as harsh storms swept through the tiny town of Byers.
There are high winds and lightening. Please stay in your cars until the storm has passes. No time to play around.

The two-day festival, held at May Farms, began Saturday. The venue offers very little in the way of shelter, so fans were evacuated to their cars, according to the festival’s Twitter feed. Shuttle buses were also used to shelter fans. After the initial order was given about 6:30 p.m., gates were reopened about 8:40 p.m.
It was initially unclear how the weather would affect the rest of the concert, which was expected to draw tens of thousands of people.
GATES ARE REOPEN! All artists will be performing. Thank you for your patience. We will not be scanning tickets. Updated schedule coming…

Sunday night’s acts were set to include Blink-182, Public Enemy and Devotchka. The festival visited just three cities this year: Denver, Chicago and Toronto.
